Bluetooth

Everyone is always asking me “What is Bluetooth and what can it do for me”?
First off Bluetooth is nothing new, it’s been around for years in everything from phones, PDA’s, laptops, etc. Bluetooth wireless technology is a radio solution to provide links between mobile phones, laptops and other hand held devices.  Bluetooth devices operate on a 2.4 GHz radio signal so their maximum transfer rate is 723 kbps and they have a range of 65-328 feet depending on the category of the device. So what can we use this for?  Well some of the simple uses would be to wirelessly synchronize your PDA’s to your laptop or desktop, how about connecting a wireless headset to your mobile phone.  We can also use Bluetooth technology to connect mice, keyboards & printers wirelessly. So even though it isn’t as popular as some expected it to be, there are still many devices that are Bluetooth enabled.  Bluetooth still offers a practical solution to many devices that might not have had wireless capabilities without it.
